Contemporary, technophile, feminine - how long will the cliché that photographic technique is masculine hold when women have long been active in the practice? Is it possible to use gender in photographic technique? Yes, it can! With this current series of exhibitions, the photographic technique, which has a persistent masculine connotation, has its feminine counterpart: FOTOTECHNIKA. The four Austrian initiators, Carolinë Heider, Ruth Horak, Lisa Rastl and Claudia Rohrauer, are inviting three Swiss women artists to look at the conditions under which photography is made or, more precisely, at the theme of photographic technique, and not just to use it in practice, but to understand it as an artistic pictorial subject: Alessia Olivieri, Christelle Boulé and Corinne Futterlieb.
